Note to self

I am blind. As a bat. This is why I should bring friends along with me when I go glasses shopping. Because if I try to do it on my own, the pair of glasses which I think look just fine on me will - after I get my first glimpse of them with my prescription in them (aka, after they're paid for) - turn out to have fake diamond hearts in the side, like I'm trying to be some kind of child movie star. I was apparently too blind to notice them (it all looks like a big blur, even when I squint), and the lady who was helping me apparently now thinks I have strange taste. I asked her if they looked OK. She said 'sure'. I guess that should have been my first clue.

Oh well. At least I don't leave the house much. And the frames were completely covered by insurance - can't complain much, there. I miss my sister. :-(

(OK, they're not that bad. I don't think.... And no, I'm not posting pictures. Yet.)

Awwww. I'm sure they're not that bad! Any chance your store has a satisfaction guarantee that allows you to trade them within a certain timeframe?

I hate shopping for new glasses. I find it stressful because I'm making a long commitment to whatever I choose. I can't tolerate contacts too well anymore, but I do wear them when I shop for glasses so that I can actually see what's going on my face. I also have to try to remember to wear them when I get my hair cut. Otherwise, when the hairdresser hands me the mirror and asks how it looks, I just have to nod and pretend that I can actually see what she's just done to me!

That's exactly what happens to me! lol I don't do contacts, though, so I generally just be sure to have someone I trust with me. Which is what I should have done with the glasses. :P Oh well.

    Poor Harmony.

Are you really sure you the one you want giving you eyewear style advice is the girl who got ABC glasses the first time she got to pick them out herself? ;-)

You do have my deep sympathy. I'd have helped if I could have.

Okay, I feel sorry for you. Now, post pictures. Tomorrow. ;-)

Harmony, you must have forgotten some of the glasses frames your sister picked out over the years. She had quite a string of... umm ... remarkable choices. I can supply pictures if you want to post them ;-P
