Prayers, Please

On their way back home from our house after a Mother's Day lunch, my parents received a call from a couple in their congregation that their not-quite-2-year-old son was dying in the local children's hospital.

The boy, Daniel, had been sick for a very long time. He was born with a rare liver disease called ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency, which he shares with an older brother who had severe brain damage at birth due to the disease. Daniel had two liver transplants in his short life and everyone thought he was doing very well and had a chance of a normal life that his brother never had. Unfortunately, during a family vacation to Disney in September of last year, he started bleeding uncontrollably, his brain began to swell, and he went into a coma. He had his ups and downs since then, but today his heart couldn't fight anymore.

Please remember Daniel's family in your prayers, especially for the mother who lost her baby boy on Mother's Day. I know they all need Comfort right now that no one on Earth knows how to give them.

Well said. We do hope many will pray for the family as God comforts them at this time.

My heart hurts so much for this family. They have been through more in the last several years than most people have to suffer in a lifetime. Surely God has a special reward for them in heaven, where they will meet their Daniel and live forever with no tears and no pain. May God's comfort cover them until then.
