Pictures Like These...

...are what prompted my parents to subsidize the purchase of a digital SLR camera.




I went with a Pentax K200D, in large part because it takes AA batteries. I did seriously consider resigning my fate over to proprietary batteries, but in the end, I chose to go with Pentax, because of the in-body image stabilization, aforementioned batteries, increased bit depth, and price (relative, of course, considering that SLR cameras are gobs more expensive than regular digital cameras.)

Camera should hopefully be here on Tuesday, at which point we leave behind the blissful world of point-and-shoot...
